Governorship candidate of the African Democractic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State, Elder Leke Abejide, has called on the Christian body to partner with him in his journey to rescue the state.
Leke who was received at the Cherubim and Seraphim church in felele by the Kogi CAN body said he was there for their spiritual blessings.
He said he will abolish the ‘retrogrrssion’ salary payment experienced by the state workforce .
Leke said he was in the race to better the lot of kogites, promising to change the face of the state.
He said his campaign will be issue based and urged others in the race to follow suite.
Leke said the collaboration with the Christian body is important for the empowerment of the youths, women and the vulnerable in the society through adequate training in entrepreneurship, technology, digital skills and investment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The governorship candidate said his interest is in turning the fortunes of the state economy around through his programmes and disruptive innovation that will turn them into productive assets, wealth creators and employers of labour.
Leke said as a deep rooted Christian he believes in the biblical quotation of fulfilling any promises made, hence he will deliver on his promises as governor of the state.
He was received along his entourage by the State CAN chairman.
