The African Democractic Congress ADC candidate for Kogi November 11 Governorship election, Hon. Leke Abejide has commissioned solar-powered street lights for the people of Idi Ori community in Lokoja council area of the state.

The residents of Idi Ori could not hold their appreciation as the solar powered light donated to the community by Kogi Diaspora Vanguard for Good Governance came to reality.

Speaking at the commissioning program, Abejide’s Chief Of Staff, Hon. Shola Adebola promised to do more if the ADC candidate is given the opportunity to occupy Lugard House.

According to him, “Abejide is a man of his words, whatever God has directed him to say or promise, he will always make it come to fruition.

“When the leaders of the group came to our office, they demanded that we come here to see it. And he (Abejide) has promised to supply more of this in tens to this community.”

Adebola said the solar powered light is in line with Abejide’s resolve to light up areas within the state in a way to help reduce insecurity and boost the confidence of the people.

According to him, this light-up project will not only assist in tackling insecurity but will also boost the economic life as people will be able to do their business safely at night.

National Coordinator of the group, Engr. Omoniyi Abayomi said the project was self sponsored as a support for Abejide’s Governorship ambition.

He said the group did it on line with their resolves to promote good governance in Kogi, and has identified the ADC candidate as the best that aligned with their aims and objectives.

“We are determined to work round the clock in ensuring that Elder Leke Abejide becomes the next Governor of Kogi state because we have absolute trust in his capacity based on his track records of achievements so far in the Western Senatorial district of the state.

End.
