KSU Kabba not for political reasoning – Wemi Jones stated as Inauguration panel visit temporary sites
The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones on Tuesday revealed that the state government is not playing politics with the establishment of the new Kogi State University, Kabba.
Mr. Jones stated this during a Courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba as part of the assessment tour of the university site by the Inauguration panel set up by the state government led by Prof. Olu Obafemi.
The education Commissioner said establisment of the university was at the front burner of the state governor, Yahaya Bello, stressing that the timing should not be misconstrued to be for political reason even though it comes at preelection period.
He promised that the governor will made do his promises concerning the kickoff of the university before the end of his tenure.
Reacting to the visiting team, HRM Oba Solomon Owoniyi said the university was an answered prayers to the educational quest of Okun people.
He said though the university will be sited in Kabba, its establishment is to serve the entire Okun people.
He said the Senatorial district has for a long time aggitated to have a university, thank the governor from r making their prayers come true.
