The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved the immediate removal of Hon. Hassan Atawodi as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area.

In the same vein, the Governor approved the appointment of Musa Muhammed Lawal as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area with immediate effect.

A statement by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Ayoade PhD directed Hassan Atawodi to submit all Government property in his possession to the new Transition Chairman.

The statement also, directed Hassan Atawodi to handover all the affairs of the Council and submit handing-over note to the new Transition Chairman immediately.

Though the SSG did not indicate reasons for Atawodi’s sack, but newsmen gathered that the former Ofu transition chairman connived to divert some of the bags of rice meant to be shared as food palliative for people of Ofu LGA.
