Kinsmen of Governor Yahaha Bello of Kogi state in the central Senatorial district has promised to vote for candidate from the Western Senatorial district in the November 11 guber race so as to balance power shift equation in the state.

A reknown elder stateman, Prof. Omeiza Ajayi made this known on Friday at the palace of the Ohinoyi of Egbira land, HRM Ado Ibrahim who was playing host to the Governorship candidate of the African Democractic Congress (ADC), Hon. Leke Abejide.

Prof. Ajayi said the present political period in the state called for deeper reflection, stressing that the central district must support a western candidate who were part of the struggle that ensured power shift in order not to be seen as greedy.

“The people of Kogi West played a major role in achieving the rotation of power to Kogi Central, they also supported the present government for 8 years, and now it is the time for Kogi West to become the governor of Kogi.

“We have a good candidate that I strongly believe can perform well in Hon. Leke Abejide and his Deputy governorship candidate, Dr Idris Omede from Dekina local government area of Kogi East which is very close to our hearts. Dekina is the largest LGA in Kogi East.”.

“I am saying this because of what is going on in the state, people are saying how can you support someone from the West when our son is also in the race, I want to say unequivocally that the people of Ebira are not selfish, we are not greedy people, we are peace-loving people who believe in equity”, he said.

Prof. Aliyu appealed to the people of Kogi Central through His Royal Majesty Dr Ado Ibrahim the Ohinoyi of Ebira land that the people of Kogi Central should jointly support the candidacy of Hon. Leke Abejide in the interest of the state and for the development of the people, “This will promote fairness, justice and equity in the state.”

End.
