The Okun United for Ododo platform has enjoined Traditional Rulers and political stakeholders across party levels in OkunlandĀ to join hands and work towards ensuring that the APC governorship candidate, Usman Ododo emerges victorious in the November 11th, 2023 election.
The platform made this known during their visit to some Traditional Rulers and political bigwigs in the area, amongst which are the Obaro of Kabba, Olujumu of Ijumu; Hon. Abiodun Ojo and Ijumu LG chairman, Taofiq Isah.
The group led by the state Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara said they are out to ensure that Okun get her bearing right and enjoy more divident of democracy when the new government is formed.
Omodara said the group will stand in the gap to ensure that all that is due to the zone is realized, and also ensure that it takes steps towards the actualization of Okun governor after the tenure of Usman Ododo may have been completed.
He said the zone had enjoyed government patronage from present governor Yahaya Bello,Ā pleaded with them to endorse and support the APC candidate at the polls.
They said the administration of Bello did well in uniting the state, promising that Ododo will do better when he assumes office and, will be able to attract developments into the state.
They said the platform is not in rivalry with the APC structure in the zone, but working to ensure that Okun benefits more under the next government.
Chairman of Ijumu LGA, Taofiq Isah urged the platform to continue their struggle in getting the best for the zone. He also stated that their early interest will yield positive result for a governor of Okun extraction when the time is ripe.
