The Department of State Security Service (DSS) in Kogi State on Saturday invited the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ododo Ahmed Usman in their office for questioning.
Though the purpose of his visit was not made open by the DSS, but the APC candidate was drilled for several hours by the officers of the security agency.
The APC candidate it was gathered got to the DSS office around 12:30 but was not released until around 2:40pm.
It was gathered that Ododo was invited based on some petition from the opposition’s candidates based on the November 11 governoship election coming up in Kogi State.
Meanwhile, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman who confirmed the development disclosed to newsmen that his invitation by the DSS was ‘normal.’
Ododo who did not disclosed details of the petition by some of his Co contestants said the allegations was frivolous and untrue but he has to honour the invitation by the secret poce based on his respect for law, “As a good citizen, I have told them that I will maintain peace in the state. I have also giving my commitment to a free and fair election”.
Ododo who said there was was no tension in the state ahead of the election urged his supporters, members of his party and Kogites at large to continue to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
“As far as I am concerned, there is no opposition in the state. I can assure you that by the grace of God I will win the coming election.
