…Tasks Kogites to Support Him
As Nigeria marks the 2023 Democracy Day, Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Kogi State has enjoined the people of Kogi state to continue to play an active role in heightening democracy and support him.
In his goodwill message, to mark the June 12 Democracy Day, Hon Leke Abejide noted that democracy has come to stay in the country calling on the people of Kogi state to remain steadfast as major stakeholders in the process of governance.
According to Hon. Abejide “Democracy in its purest form only exists to serve the best interest of the people, in an equitable, just, transparent and unifying manner, that enables trust and engenders patriotism and pride in nationhood; and belief in democratic practice and leadership.”
Hon. Abejide stated that he is ready to deliver the dividends of Democracy that the people of Kogi state have been yarning for, as he foresees a better future for Kogi state.
” I am ready to make real progress to bring solutions to the systemic failures that enable divisiveness, abhors nepotism and avarice the citizens of Kogi state are experiencing. To bring togetherness and oneness of purpose to the State.
He further called on the people to continue to support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: “We are absolutely convinced and confident that President Tinubu, being one of the courageous fighters for the enthronement of Democracy in Nigeria, as the current man in the driving seat of Nigeria’s democratic leadership, is not only conversant with the democratic principles, norms and nuances but is also willing and courageous enough to lead Nigeria to the future that would serve the interest of the citizenry.
“The tough decisions President Tinubu has made right from his first day in office are indicative of a President who will lead from the front and make tough calls for the overall good of the people.
“Nigeria deserves a leader that will be bold and decisive in policy formulation, implementation, and declarations that will guarantee delivery of democratic dividends and accountability to the Nigerian people.
“Let me use this opportunity to pay tribute to our past and present leaders, who have contributed to deepening our democratic experience and strengthening our political culture”, he added.
Abejide tasks the people of Kogi State to get more involved in the governance and take decisive steps to support who will lead Kogi State in the right direction.
He assured the people of Kogi State of an inclusive administration come Nov 2023 to prioritize the well-being of the people through socio-economic infrastructure, as well as equal opportunities for all to strengthen democracy.
