THE LEGEND GOES HOME!!!!
The news of the Passing of our dear King, Ohinoyi of Ebira land, king Abdul Rahman Ado Ibrahim met me with the greatest shock. My deepest Sympathy goes to his family, the people of Ebira Kingdom and Kogi state at large. There are simply no words to convey the sadness in my heart.
It is no news that the king and I shared a great bond. He was a very kindhearted and patriotic King who believed in fairness, equity and justice. The Ohinoyi always stood on what was right, and what was right alone. In my personal interaction with him, he believed in the justice of power shift to the west.
His ideologies, exposure and overall perspective on life , which were evident in the way he lived stems from the fact that he was s a highly educated man, having attained his Bachelors Degree in Economics at the prestigious London school of Economics, United Kingdom and also a Harvard School Alumnus.
His reign united the various multiethnic groups of the state. More importantly, the cordial relationship between the ethnic groups, particularly between the west and central was solidified under his reign.
He was a refined King with a humble and gently mien that will naturally draw him to anyone. I am proud to have been associated with him and will continue to regard as a privilege, the very little I was able to draw from his fountain of knowledge and wealth of experience.
On behalf of my family and I, the good people of Kogi West, I express my heart felt sympathy and offer my deepest condolences.
May His Gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
