Vice Chancellor, Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK), Professor Kehinde Eniola, on Monday disclosed that the management of the institution is making concerted effort to make the citadel of learning the best in academic excellence in Nigeria and globally.
The Vice Chancellor of the newly established university who stated this during the maiden matriculation press briefing at the University campus in Kabba, Kogi State, said no fewer than 1,200 students will be matriculated in the maiden matriculation slated for Tuesday.
According to him, the institution is determined from the onset to raise students that would be nationally and globally recognize, in their various fields of academic endeavour.
He said that the management is working with some partners to provide an affordable accommodation for the students, assuring that their security of life and property are guaranteed.
The Vice Chancellor lauded Governor Yahaya Bello for establishing the university and for putting every necessary requirements in place to ensure the smooth take off of the institution.
He revealed that 25 academic programmes has been approved by the National University Commission (NUC), adding that the university will commence IJMB immediately to create opportunity for those who do no meet the entry requirements of the University.
“NUJ approved 1750 slots as admission capacity, our JAMB cut-off point is 160 and those who did not meet up with our admission requirement will be giving opportunity to prepare for IJMB to enable them secure admission” he stated.
He advised the students to prioritize their studies, stressing that the University intends to churn out students that are employable and global leaders
