KOGI ELECTION: GOV. BELLO QUERIES OHIMEGE OVER DEATH OF FEMALE APC SUPPORTERS
The Kogi State Government has queried the paramount ruler and Ohimege of Kotonkarfe, HRM, Abdulrasaq Isah Koto over the outcome of the just concluded governorship election.
The state government in the query asked the traditional ruler to explain the death of one of the APC supporters, Khadijat Yahaya who was killed in front of his palace.
Khadijat was killed in the first week of October during the campaign rally of the SDP candidate, Muritala Ajaka held at the open space on front of the palace in Kotonkarfe, a development that sparked wide spread commentaries – while the SDP said Khadijat was one of the thugs that attack their campaign, the APC said she was killed by SDP supporters during their party walk in the town.
But in a twist of event, the state government has now queried the Ohimege for allowing such ugly development to have happened at his front yard.
The query stated that the Ohimege’s action or inaction caused a security breach in his domain and so he must respond immediately.
Though the Ohimege did not openly commented about the query, but palace source said the traditional ruler had already made official his response to the state government query.
“Even the Sultan of Sokoto and some other prominent personalities have been informed about the development and are already wading into the issue,” the source stated.
The source however stressed that the query wrapped around the APC women supporter was just a decoy as they have been informed ahead that the governor perceived that the Ohimege did not show open support for the governor’s candidate, Usman Ododo in the just concluded governorship election.
