A prominent politician from Ijumu area of Kogi State, Otunba Jambright Sunmonu has decided to join the African Democractic Congress, ADC along with his party structure, in support of Hon. Leke Abejide, ahead of the November 11 gubernatorial election.

Jambright as he’s popularly known, has consistently been a member of the People’s Democractic Party since the return of democracy in 1999 and has worked to deliver his area to the PDP in past elections.

The ADC Guber candidate along his Deputy, Idris Omede welcomed Jambright’s defection to support the ADC candidate seeing it as a positive step that will strengthen the party in Ijumu. He praised Jambright’s political success and emphasized the benefits of aligning with the ADC’s agenda of rescuing Kogi state.

Jambright in his response commended the ADC Governorship candidate, said his superlative performance at the House of Representatives for Yagba people endeared him to join his guber train.

He expressed full support for ADC and the Governorship candidate, ensuring their victory in the November 11 election. He stressed that he’s optimistic that Abejide will replicate his performance as a federal Lawmaker in the state when elected.
