GOV. BELLO MISSING AS 71 PERSONS SUBMIT APPLICATION FOR OHINOYI’S STOOL

Contrary to speculation that governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has secret interest for the Ohinoyi’s stool, the names of applicants for the stool has shown difference; as the governor’s name is missing.

Seventy one eminent personalities have so far expressed interest in succeeding Dr Ado Ibrahim as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

Kogi state government had announced the commencement of succession process to fill the vacant stool of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland on Monday, December 11.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Deedat Ozigi who announced the commencement of selection process, constituted and inaugurated the committee of king makers to commence an immediate work of receiving and scrutinizing application letters from interested and eligible sons of Ebiraland, as prescribed by the law

According to documents from the committee, a former Deputy Governor, Philip Salawu; former Clerk of the National Assembly, Ataba Sani Omolori (Ciroma of Ebiraland); Brig. Gen. Yusuf Abubakar Amuda; and the Ohi of Okengwe, HRH DR. Tijani Muhammed Anaje have submitted their applications.

Also, female university don, Professor Angela Okatahi, was listed among those eyeing the revered traditional stool.
