The candidate of the African Democractic Congress (ADC) for the Kogi November Governorship election, Hon. Leke Abejide has assured that the welfare and safety of children will be top of his agenda when elected.

Abejide who spoke on the sideline of the annual May 27 children’s day celebration also felicitated with children across the country expecially those in Kogi State.

In a goodwill message to commemorate the 2023 Childrenā€™s Day, Hon. Abejide noted that the Childrenā€™s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the young ones and to fully consider the important place they occupy in the heart of the nation.

He said under his watch, children will be given due attention and their health and education will be priorities; which he said is part of his vision to make the state stronger.

ā€œIt is a day to recommit ourselves to doing all in our power to ensure that children are protected and empowered to aspire to be great in life, and to remove all impediments in their way.

ā€œChildren are the leaders of tomorrow, our hope for the future. I will therefore give due attention to their health and well-being through the policies I will set,ā€ he said.

He also stated that the safety of the Kogi child is non-negotiable, noting that the issues of violence against children, child molestation, child labour and other evils committed against children will be seriously tackled.

He said he will work for a safe and nourishing environment for Kogi children to grow and prosper.
End.
